... big box arrived today from Canada (our own Jean):

and inside was the Alton Graal:

At first impression the kit is solid, well made: primary case foundry looks of good quality, the sprag has no freeplay nor tool marks

the only "flimsy" part seems to be the alternator:

I cant wait to install it and finally ride my Commando!

Who is making this kit? I am particularly interested in the alternator as I have a special need for a special application.

look athttp://www.alton-france.com/en/ their web site is poor, but their products are great.
Alternator for Vincent and Velocette are their speciality, they are very well known for this.

Philippe, how did the Alton Starter Kit work out for you? I see they've updated their site.
http://www.alton-france.com/en/products02/electric-start/norton but no US distributor.

I'm curious but am also anxious to see how other kits pan out.
