To cut a long story short my knee is knackered and next year I plan to fit an Alton starter kit. No choke is fitted on the Amal premiers but the plan is to change this. I have looked at choke levers and seen two versions similar to each other are available, one with a flat lever and one with a ball on the end which resembled the one on my T140V. Can sombody enlighten me as to which type was fitted to a 73 Roadster and if possible how the cable's' were routed.

The Titanic has the same choke lever as the SS clone and was used for beaucoup British bikes for years. There are probably variants, especially older machines, but I don't recall ever seeing anything else on a Commando.

I've seen the lever on the right bar, but I've always placed mine on the left. The 1-into-2 junction lays in the space between the two top frame tubes and one cable goes to each side. The top single cable drops in front of the middle of the top tree and circles the headstock regardless of which side you mount the lever.
