I have seen quite a few cheap 13 mm master cylinders on ebay, has anyone tried them? These are perhaps 75% cheaper than a Brembo or Magura. As always, you get what you pay for but I'm curious about these.
Also what master cylinder is used on the Madass system?

Look at Amazon - even cheaper and in most cases free returns if you're not happy with them. I work on a guy's 79 Bonneville from time to time that has brake and clutch master cylinders he bought on Amazon. I think he said he paid $35 for the pair. I can't attest to how long they last. I can say that they work well, look good and seem to be well made. Of course they don't mount to Lucas switch consoles, but he uses ones from Amazon as well and other than wire color annoyance, they work great. Not positive, but I think this is the set he has:

Amazon product ASIN B07FKK69TG

I can't say with a Norton caliper how well they work. He has high dollar twin disks and calipers. It only takes a little pressure to stop that bike quickly and I suspect that "stopies" are easily done (not by me!).

The Madass kit is a very good value at $150 USD and it mates up to stock lucas switch casing:

Or go with the diy resleeve kit for $75.

We're currently running China's finest Brembo clones on my grandsons MK3 on both brake and clutch (an old hydraulic conversion). So far, so good. No idea how long they will last.

Brakes are the VERY LAST place to save money. Buy a good quality mastercylinder - like the Brembo from CNW or something similar. I had two sleeved Norton MC failures - both cases were known "reliable" suppliers of sleeved MCs. One failure overnight in the garage; the other failed between stoplights worked fine at light one, no front brake at light two.

I wouldn't put a sleeved MC on an orange crate scooter.

Brembo has a factory in China, consequence is there are loads of fake Brembo copies and unbranded copies.
