Just an FYI for those of you in Australia looking for a Motormite style PCV valve.
Instead of spending double the purchase price on freight from the U.S., I just picked up a couple locally at an auto parts shop. I don't think the major shops (Repco, Sprint, Bursons, etc) would have them in stock, they can't seem to find anything for me unless I give them a specific car model no ealier than 1999. Ask for Protex part #PV116 (w/out grommet) or #PV112 (with grommet). Cost me $10 for 2.

Dan,
If you check threads on that type of breather, they typically do not last long in Norton applications, too much exchange of air. However if you are after an effective cheaper solution, try the Yamaha XS650 reed breather set up. They fit nicely near the battery box and you can order them from MikesXS site, with reasonable freight, about $18 from memory.
Cheers Richard

Yes, I'm just working with what my bike had on it when I got it. New kid = less time and money = I will work with what I've got, which is working fine for now.
Eventually, I will either go the XS650 or Comnoz(?) sump breather, I am also considering the stock 1972 breather bolted to the blanking plate. But for now, I would rather use my spare time and cash to go riding.

I purchased that Motormite PCV valve, in my opinion its not at all suitable, its to small to handle the volume, not to mention that you have to try and butcher it somewhat if you try to fit it as was originally suggested.
there are many better options, I bought a reedvalve block off some Kawa 4 stroke twin valve cover and made my own 3 bolt adaptor plate to mount it on, everyone has their own device, but that little plastic one is a waste of time, heaps of threads on this subject.

The Motormite valve has a placebo effect. If you think its working, you feel better.
