I need to replace my Mark lll drive chain and sprockets.

Can I fit an "O" ring chain to a Mark lll?

I realize it's tight for pre-Mark lll model Commandos, but hard to tell now that I have it apart.

If you are going to replace the chain and sprocket then you have the option of going to a 520 O-ring or X-ring chain. There is lots of info for chain mods if you do a search on the subject here on the forum. You will probably get interference with the chain rubbing against the primary chain case if you use a 530 O-ring chain. I use DID520ZVM2 X-Ring chain but again you must modify the sprockets to suit the new chain width. Have a good read.

Simply depends on how much money to spend on mods and replacing thinner 520 teeth vs some temporary rubbing a clean path to fit 530 X ring. DO NOT use O ring as very stiff so rides higher on teeth and wears them over faster. Some can fit 530 sealed chain w/o any rubbing, its that close to a clear run. Rivet and breaker tool needed for most/best sealed chains. Sealed is clean no maintenance treat.
