Disassembling parts on my 72 Norton for the "Removal Of Power Unit" to replace perhaps the original rear isolatics rubbers to the MKIII type and other upgrades while power unit is out. After taking the left Z-Plate off I noticed this chaincase rub. Would it of been the worn isolastics? Or something else. 32K on the Norton. Anyone had this happen to? Thank you for your replies. Jerry

Yes, the rub mark was almost certainly caused by worn Isolastics.
