This is quite a difference. One time I was working on an 850 and the primary was touching the Z plate giving a lot of trouble fitting it up. That's when I noticed a slight bend to the two downtubes just below the headstock. This is the first thing I look for when I encounter a Commando new to me. The one I'm currently working on has very little clearance but no bent down tubes. The isos are completely sacked, I believe the original shims. The rubber gaiters are hard as a rock.
