at request I built a pair of TZ type wheels for Norton fitment for a guy called Rance Carli who was building a Norvin, at first he wanted to pay by chek, then some spiel about getting his Paypal acc organised,
he hasnt been replying much lately to my emails, here is why, and I found another case against him.

Good job you didn't get burned.

So will the pleece be auctioning off a cheap Norvin project.?
Or will it appear with blue lights in dayglow white ??

well I just got a reply from the guy
"As for what you read on line, that turned out to be a botched case, I was never charged with anything and the fellows who brought the charges are now on the run from the authorities for fraud and falsely reporting a crime."

thats not the way I read it,

Show the wheels, if they are like the ones on your avatar, it would enhance this topic.

Sweet, are they Smith Karin (sp??) or TZ replicas? How much for the wheels?

Jean

Front is TX castings machined to suit Norton forks, rear is bigger version of TZ made for Norton swingarm.
I've sold quite a few of both for Featherbed based Cafe racers. $3000 + shipping for the pair

Expensive, but they look awsome, well worth considering for a future project (I love big drums 8) )

Jean

It is quite a lot of money, but I believe not expensive for what you get. If you compare these to the prices asked for other replica racing drums which generally come without rims or spokes and the fact that these are designed to fit Norton forks and swing arms I feel this is good value for money and Even though I have been off work for months with a health problem, I am considering raiding the piggy bank for a pair of these beauties.

Madass, can you supply a pair of these with 19" rims?

Gentlemen, Buchanans don't seem to have a branch in Hong Kong, additionally the price that Madass140 sells complete wheels for is much cheaper than buying the hubs and purchasing the rims and spokes elsewhere.

its not possible to buy off the shelf rims for these big hubs, I had to get a large batch made specifically for them, I only had 18" rims made, coz that is what the original TZ was, and also thats what my customers
prefer , Its hardly viable for me to get a few hundred 19" rims made when I'll probably only sell a few.
Wheel companies like Buchanans have to drill rims for these at request, and because the spoke angle is very large, most dimples wont accommodate this so often each dimple has to be seated (machined) for the correct
spoke angle.

Bucchanan's can do any wheel hub combination. I had a front Kawasaki hub laced in a cross 3 pattern to an 18" wheel, no problem. For my last project, I had 21" rims on a front Grimeca 4LS drum and a DT250 Yamaha rear hub and everything fitted. So given the dimentions of the hubs, they could drill rims without a problem.

I got a 18 back and 19 front, looks good on Cdo. Back tire always looked to small to me. Nice wheels Madass, I'd scoop em up if I had the cake.

Yes Jean, Buchanans can, what i said was the rims for my hubs are not available "off the shelf"
they have to be drilled individually by Buchanans or whoever, just as yours were.

Which is why I said get the hubs and send them to Buchanans. Let them sort it out.
