I have a single 32mm Amal mk2 which I'm sticking with for now. Previous set up without a filter with intake tucked inside empty black box. (Mk2a). I have now bought a k & n filter. It was beutifully set up before, any thoughts on changes I may need to make to the carb, re jetting, needle, slide? Black box now gone, earlier battery tray fitted Alton fitted. Ready to go in 2 or 3 weeks I hope!

First rule do one thing at a time. Fit it and see what happens.

I doubt this will make any difference at all especially with a k&n

Quite. K&N are so free-flowing, it's similar to not running a filter, as far as jetting goes.

Exactly, and k&n are not known for their air filtering abilities, not compared to a paper element

I have never experienced any excessive or even significant wear due to airborne debris when using K&N filters, and I've had them on at least a couple dozen bikes in the last 45 + years. The key is proper washing and re-oiling; it's that simple. I would venture a guess that more than a third of the people that use them, NEVER service them; THOSE are the bikes with tales of K&N woe (for the most part).
