Guys,

I'm going to fit a new Amal Mk2 this weekend (hopefully). Should I used jointing compound with the heat resistant washers or not?

Also looking for some advice with respect to rebuilding my wheels here in the UK. I'm thinking stainless rims and spokes and I'd like to use modern tryres (as modern as possible). Any thoughts?

I put a light smear of silicon sealant on them and reach inside the adaptors and wipe off any excess inside the port.

WM3 up front, WM4 rear. This will give you a broader selection of bias ply tires.

A WM-3 and a 100/90 could give you some clearance issues on the front. I don't like the wide rim change on a commando as it does slow down the handling. but to each his own.
the AM/26 ROADRIDER tyre is as good as it gets.
. I have 5.000 miles on my rear and it is just now showing the wear bars, thet is unheard milage for me as 3500 is the norm from the old super venom or K81's :D

I'd actually be keen to hear from someone with a recommendation for a company in the UK to rebuild the wheels for me.

cheers

Hi there, I was happy several times with Central Wheels, they know the Norton...........

I've used Hagon in the past and had no problems.

Last time out I used Keith Manning in Wokingham, he used to do a lot of restoration work for the National Motorcycle Museum.
Not sure what he's up to these days, I think he's retired from the bike shop bearing his name, if anyone knows...
