Can you identify this nacelle?

I bought this nacelle from a breaker over twenty years ago for a unit 5TA that I was building, and it was sold to me as "Triumph 1963 on." It turned out to be the incorrect type, and I now intend to sell it, as it is taking up space and it would be criminal to throw it.

So the question is please, can anybody identify which model (Triumph I believe?) that this belongs to. It isn't a unit 5TA. Any help would be appreciated as I have googles the net on images etc and have been unable to come up with a match.

I wonder if that could be the pre war Triumph nacelle? I think the speed twin had something very similar. Just off hand do you think LAB has seen this? You might also try posting this on an early Triumph board.

The Triumph nacelle first appeared in 1949 as far as I know?

The one shown in the photos is I think, the late type nacelle from a coil ignition model with separate ignition and lighting switches positioned either side of the ammeter hole? Early coil ignition model nacelles had a single combined ignition and lighting switch on the right side, with the ammeter offset to the left, so I'd guess it could be from a late 6T Thunderbird or Speed Twin, but I couldn't say for sure.

I have a magazine article on the early ones at home. I'll try to remember to look that up tonight. I knew LAB would know something about it.

Thank you Cookie and LAB for your assistance. I'm keeping an eye on ebay under "nacelle", to see if a positive match comes up :?:

This is the one I thought it might be, LAB as usual was years closer. This is a 1952.

Thanks for the help Cookie and LAB, I have seen a picture of a 1965 Thunderbird (coils) and the nacelle appears very similar, and I have spoken to Len Craig on the telephone, he didn't seem to want me to email the pictures, and he has confirmed that it isn't for a 5TA, and said it is probably for a Thunderbird or could be for an Army adaptation that was done by Triumph? He would have probably positively identified it for me had I been able to give him the headlight diameter, but typically, I couldn't remember where I had safely stored it and therefore could not give him this measurement!

Anyway, his advice was to put it on ebay with the headlight diameter noted.

Thanks for your assistance.
