More shipping woes. I ordered an oil pressure gauge from Dennis kirk. They are in Minnesota and I live in New Hampshire. As usual since they NEVER TELL YOU HOW IT WILL BE SHIPPED WHEN YOU ORDER they used a physical address instead of my postal address. Of course it was shipped via USPS. Tracking shows my part left Minnesota and is now in San Bernardino California. I really miss dealing with companies that actually give a shit and paid attention to customer service

That's bad Mike. 35 years of ordering sled, dirt bike, ATV & street bike parts from DK, I've seen them go through a lot of changes.
I shopped their brick & mortor "scratch & dent" store in MN about 1997.
A few years ago they really reinvented themselves, FAST shipping, great website.
I hope they straighten it out.

Im less concerned with fast shipping than I am with accurate shipping. They promised it in 2 days. Probably be 2 weeks now, if at all.

NOT defending them, but, the fraud surrounding P.O. boxes cause companies to make shitty policy.

Like Cincinnati Microwave iron policy of signature required.
No exceptions.🫡
$2000 worth of moto parts can safely be left on my stoop, but I can't get a $500 item delivered without extra time/effort. 😤
Work kind of gets in the way of lounging around the house, waiting for Brown Suit Santa.

The problem is with the way DK ships. They have to guaruntee so many $$ worth of shipping a day with UPS and other shippers to get special rates. When you place an order you never know how it will be shipped, depends on their shipping quota for the day. Makes it hard on somebody like me who can not get home mail delivery unless I want it left in a box a mile down the road from my house. Shipping was explained to me the last time I tried to order from them, only exception is tires. DK is just trying to keep up with Amazon (Python?) as they slowly choke out the competition.

I got a set of lowered rider pegs this spring from UK , at my door in 3 days after placing order , airfreighted … paid $160 cad all in , figured it would be at least 2 wks , my Duke cam belts come from France (Desmo Racing) they get my parts to my quicker and for less than I can get them from local shops here …. I have always found business difficult to understand , I was just a working man ….

Greed.
One of the two fundamental motivators.

My town won't deliver USPS to my street address because they claim I live on a curve too dangerous for deliveries, so like all my neighbors I have a PO box. Of course every other shipping company will deliver to my street address, so it's always an issue to figure out how stuff will get shipped and give the proper address. Add to that, the fact that Paypal will only insure your purchases if the merchandise is shipped to your official paypal address. And,... then there are plenty of ebay sellers who will only ship USPS, but won't ship to a PO box..... It's a pain in the ass! It makes for situations just like yours, so I feel your pain...

My solution worked out by using this as my address for shipping:

My Name
My street address followed by "/PO Box #"
Town, State. Zip code

If the regional postal worker sees my zip code, then it goes to my town. If the town postal worker sees the "/PO Box #", He puts it in my Box. I use that "street address/PO Box#" as my paypal official address, so I am covered either way. If the seller pulls the shipping company switcherooo, my compound address usually works for whoever he changes the shipping agent too...

The only thing I think is weird that doesn't effect online purchasing is that the state of washington uses your official USPS mailing address for your official driver's license address, so the address on my drivers license is a PO box #.... So, I live in a PO Box...??? really ??? too stupid... but I deal with it.

In Australia, the concept of 'business excellence' is a joke. Some companies are very good in spite of themselves. I brought one small engineering company through to ISO9000 Quality Management System certification, however they were already excellent.
Our local council rubbish tips are full of imported goods which have failed in service. Australia no longer manufactures much other than houses. The costs of materials has become prohibitive. MAKES ME DOUBT THE GLOBALISED SYSTEM !

Australia Post is a government organisation which has been privatised. It is pretty good, however the profit motive is beginning to affect the mail service. Many people talk over the web these days. When I am billed, I like a hard copy, and I do not do internet banking. Our landline phone rings many times per day with scammers trying hard to get access to credit accounts.

I had an order from the UK to Canada once that they claimed had to be delivered to a "remote location" so they were going to charge a lot extra. I tried explaining to them that I could practically throw a rock and hit the Trans-Canada highway. In the end they realized they messed up a character in my postal code which had me living in a place that was inaccessible by road. Nobody thought to cross check the address with the postal code for several days and I didn't have access to the wrong one they were looking at. I've had parcels go to a province in Australia that matches my city name. I don't know how some of these couriers stay in business.

Ordered a seat cover from the other side of the country a week ago. Yesterday Canada Post said it was in my city, on the truck and out for delivery. I wait all day and at 9:20 pm they tell me there's been an exception and now it's going to be another week. WTF?

Aaaaand, they just delivered it. So much for "Canada Post tracking."
