Camshaft wear

Hi Guys
The manual is about as much use a T** to a Nun.. what is the maximum wear limit to standard cam lobes (750 not combat)

Depends what it is made of - EN40 / 42, then very little, chilled cast more, but ask yourself for what it costs and where do all those particles go - cheaper and better to swap a worn cam out

As Madnorton says, given the cost of a cam, and the fact that replacing it requires a full engine strip, then if it’s already stripped down at this stage, ANY discernible wear or ANY doubt as to its origin / quality / hardness would make me fit a new one without hesitation.

very rarely do all the lobes wear the same so if they all look the similar w/o obivous galling or skewed wear burnish on any lobe likely good go a long time still. I posted a photo of a worn scratched cam from a seizure I cleaned up by hand file - Comnoz said looked ok - so have enjoyed its 2S spunk again. Lifers surfaces were trashed so had Comnoz touch them up. Might show us a photo or even send to expert to check/decide for you.
