The Norton is an OHV design, does that mean all Norton riders are liable to get pulled over :?:

 Jean

ALL vehicles with 'Out of State' plates are guilty of Criminal behaver.
ALL vehicles more than 3 years old are a clear danger to the public.

Thanks for the list, interesting,
where I live there are none of those penalties
never heard of anyone being booked for , DUI, speeding, etc etc.
I've been pulled to the side of the road quite a few times in the past 5 years, usually $5 is enough to make the officer smile and I'm on my way,

$5.00 that's a laugh! Here in Ca the Cop would take your $5.00 say thanks for buying me a cup of coffee then beat you to within a inch of your life. Or put about 96 bullets in you because they ".felt threatened"!! Sorry but I live in Fullerton & knew the homeless guy that multiple cops beat to death here a few months ago & left him dying while they attended to thier one inch scratches. Murder with a badge!

In Malaysia, I was told the liscense fee is 2 Ringits (60¢) per year for small displacement bikes and scooters, plus they have their own road to skip all tolls on highways and bridges.

LAB, I don't know how but you can delete my last post here, this may not be the correct place for such venting. Glenn.

The registration on my Yamaha SR500 was due last month, forgot to renew, yesterday I thought I will renew, took my bike for emission testing, what a joke that was, cost me $7 to get that, then I was supposed to go to another place for vehicle inspection, but knowing my indicators not working ,I sought the help of a "Fixer" I gave him $30 , for that he would get my rego renewed with out the vehicle inspection report, pay my insurance, pay my annual registration, pay my penalty for expired registration and pay himself for doing all this, he will hand me the renewed registration on Monday.
soon after I first arrived in this country I was pulled over on my Madass 125, for licence and rego check, I thought I had the rego docs on me but didnt, I ended up arguing with the cop which is a no no, he said he would confiscate my bike there and then, I said ok here's the fuckin bike and I'm holding you responsible for any damage which may occur to the bike, he had some other cops push the bike to the police station on the othe side of the road, I called the wife , she came with the rego papers gave the cop $20 and next minute the cop was my best mate handed my bike back said I had a beautiful wife and I should go home and make love to her,, since that day I have been pulled over many times, never been ticketed, just show a little "consideration" to the cop if I feel I've broken the law, I like it here.

OK - some seem questionable, but the ones above are reasonable, or even light as far as I am concerned.

When some unlicensed driver, fleeing from the cops because he ran a stoplight, runs you off the road, don't you want them to pay at least $2000 in penalty? I do.
A california resident driving with out of state (probably expired) plates, is just causing the license fee to go up for the rest of us.
Even though the drunk operation of a bicycle might seems comical, when he wobbles into your path and you drop your bike and end up in the weeds it won't seem so funny.
I deleted it, but, requiring a dismantler's license has its pluses. What if they stole and parted out your bike? Wouldn't you want the cops to have some reason to nail them?

Until fairly recently, I lived and worked in a part of the world with corrupt cops and no real traffic laws. It was damn dangerous! California cops can be dickheads, no doubt, but so are the lowlifes and scofflaws they deal with.

Xbacksiseslider was only stating what the penalties were, he didnt state whether he agreed or disagreed with the penalties.
I think he only listed those penalties so others could compare theirs in other parts of the world.

Truth be told there is never at time I ride or drive & don't go well above the posted speed limit or break some other traffic law. I also haven't been pulled over in so long I can't remember the last time & while I think the price of tickets is way to high here I really can't understand how people with multiple DUI's still have licences.

oh wait.............

Oh ugh. After learning the rules of the road as concerns police tickets and insurance hits in '70's, I gave up my Fla Dr. Lic and also a Texas Dr. Lic, to have a fighting chance of beating the rap or minimizing the ongoing cost by anything going on my record for Insurance companies to punish me more with. Last time I was stopped was d/t car tail lights out, gave him my passport for safe passage through foreign territory and loaded pistol, to be allowed to check fuse which blew again with smoke, so told just run the hazard flashers, given back my stuff and let on my way. I call this catch and release game as about 50/50 I get released w/o a ticket with they realize I ain't intoxicated, belligerent nor with stolen property. Also don't own anything of great value in my own Name but have their title held by private trusts so if I'm a bad boy they take craft away from, trustee's agent can pick it up next day w/o much hits on the impound storage costs. Beating tickets is a side line hobby I've studied up on a long time to find its easier if not under States's DMV jurisdiction from applying for a Dr. Lic. Not a path of the timid. A good bit of the price increases is from Central banksters and their Gov't agents stealing the money value from us all. Ain't no way I'd try to out run police on modern racer or vintage cycle, but am pensive as hell on how easy to loose em on Ms Peel, especially if they'd try to follow on THE Gravel. You all do have a switch to shut off tail lights for this don't ya?

Yep! It was. And I'm damn glad to be here!

If you don't like it, don't come here. You wont hurt my feelings at all if you stay away.

Besides, you've got all the smog you need in Denver, you don't need to come here and take ours.

Don't get me wrong, I love California!
It's the attitudes of Californians that yank my chain.

Denver Smog? I really wouldn't know!
I have only been to Denver once in the past 20 years,
and that was just passing through - I didn't even stop.

I just paid for a speeding ticket doing 79 in a 55.
Cost me $540 but the includes traffic school, taxes, pay offs, shipping,,,,,,

Two mph more (40 kph over limit) and in New Zealand you would have automatic side of road loss of licence for 28 days.

You would be walking home.
