My Uncle and my Mother used to race on this beach back in the day.

Oreti Beach and Sandy Point | Southland, New Zealand

...well, in the movie, he was portrayed as a bit of a guy who didn't much give a damn, and boinked the widowed rancher lady. So, relatively accurate depiction of the character?

I watched the movie years ago then had a trip through NZ. Friends running a farm in Invercargill. Went to the local Grainger and checked it out. Hey I need a weed eater, some baling wire and that Indian over there!
