Bullit connectors

Can those bullit connectors be found in a hardware store?
I am installing a new harness and need those ends for my tail lites and such.
I also have a couple of wires from the RH handle bar switch that seem to go to nowhere, no color matching anywhere.
Is that normal?

As for the wires coming off the switch, it is normal that the red/white not be used unless you have a MkIII. The rest are functional for the kill switch and turn indicators. However, some bikes where reconfigured to put switches in different locations. It would be helpful if you could provide specific colors you have questions about.

I you are going to be doing a lot of bullet connectors, get a decent crimper from British Wiring as well. It will make your life easier. It crimps them correctly. A hex pattern IIRC.

Not the Lucas ones. You can find the crimp on bullet connectors anywhere, that's what I used and I hate them.

Bullets I use from British Wiring have holes in the end. Strip the wire to the correct length, crimp it on, and just enough wire will (should) be sticking through the end to give it a nice dab of rosin-core solder. File the end a wee bit to get a nice looking bullet, and It should slide into the female end smoothly. The nice part about the crimper is that it holds things in place while you solder, with no movement and jangling around. Time consuming for sure - if your are doing a whole harness. Crimper was fairly expensive, but I use it quite a bit, and have shared the "joy" of owning one with a few friends.

I've used Napa bullet connectors and they are good quality, but they do NOT mate with the stock ones as the size is slightly different so both ends of a connection have to be replaced.....FWIW also bought a ratcheting crimper recently and that has made a huge differnce in the strength and reliability of the crimps, should have got one years ago...not cheap but worth it

I got one like that from Harbor Freight and it was cheap and did help my crimps.

Moss Motors sells the Lucas type male and female connectors too.

The wires coming of the RH switch are the W-R and the W-Y.
It looks like they go to the starter, which I don't have, being it's a '74, and the other goes to a turn indicator, which I don't have.
It's and new harness but an old switch.
Everything else hooked up perfectly.
Got it from Commando Speciality.
I fried the old one. Sure is nice to have it all nice again.

I'll check out Napa for the bullets and Harbor Freight for the crimper.
Gotta love that place for it's price for disposable tools.

I'm having my head stud repaired and will get it back this week.
I should be on the road by this weekend if my wifey doesn't find any work for me.

Watch out for the HF crimper, The design is flawed and will leave a bad crimp. The crimp closed distance needs to be adjusted for it to work right. I have a few different brands of this style crimper, and only the HF one failed me. Look for an OTC or tool aid.
The laminated jaws on all of them use 3 layers, the HF set omits the middle layer and uses a spacer, the missing layer causes problems.
