Does anyone know what the current market equivalents of the bulbs in the Norton?
The numbers come from the '74 850 Parts book:

L643 instrument bulbs,
382 Turn signal bulb,
380 Tail light,
281 warning bulb

THANKS!

Just seeing if I can walk into my local Pep Boys etc.. and find bulbs off the shelf instead of paying 3 times the cost plus shipping charges plus the week and a half wait for delivery.....

Its been awhile but seems standard H4 halogen slip in but need special pig tail plug or separate blade terminal wires to hook it up. Many replace the pilot lamp with a 20 watt halogen to run in day time and still been seen well w/o draining battery.
So yes you can shop in auto parts for all the lights even the lamp shell indicators,
if a decent stocked shop or one that been there for decades. This is what I did for both my Combats to see stuff at speed at night.

Hobot can you direct me to a source for the 20W Halogen Lamp for the Pilot.
A while back I tried to order from OldBritts and Ella had no idea when they would get some in.

Thanks

hm I never bothered but in cases like this I go down my long list of vendors getting stories and advice till finding what I'm after all over the world. I may have it in files in another 'puter or can quizz Brit Iron where this was an old option a decade ago. Mostly used by city riders in sluggish conditions not to stall with the excessive brake light drain added.

I did a search to find this UK site with halogen head light an pilot bulbs listed as direct replacements. Surely N. America has similar to find.
