Ride and use em up is my fate forced motto. Trixie's nice yellar is loosing its grip around the filler neck this season. She got her treat of new paint and I ain't stealing from Peel project no more, so wonder what might nail it down a good bit longer. Hardly any gasohol used so just a poor sealing in traditional trouble spot. Inject super glue under the bubbles then mash down? Build a dam of Caswell's around it then sand and polish smooth. Put her under glass cover while still attractive? ugh.

Is the paint fairly new? Old? Original? If it is near new it can probably be repaired by somebody who knows what they are doing. If it is older, I would be tempted to mask off the rest of the tank and paint a black badge around the filler that mimicked the shape of the cap. Heck, use truck bed liner and assume it is to prevent chips from an enthusiastic pit crew during refueling.

LOL, thankyou so much relieving my mind that I'm not alone/nutz with similar options floatingto mind too. What shows on surface over lies the original baked on black, then some deer caused bondo with rattle can yellow over that, then too much clear coat that crinkled up so mostly removed for more rattle can base yellow then a local did a new yellow and clear coat for $100 and that is what's getting gas under its skin. Not chipped off yet and within 3/8" wide band, so still savable as rest is looking good yet. My main quandary besides not looking worse than the bubbles is factory Nortons didn't have anything showing around the filler, but oh well who'd know but me and everyother Commando owner. Its not just the mild cosmetics to save but stopping the progression. I don't dribble gasoline but the cap does if near topped off even on pavement. Wesleys' tiny HyRyder tank is gel coated Brunt Orange so nothing to get under and Caswell'd sealed thick inside.

Maybe just maybe some wheel clear coat after hi heat drying might seal neck back up and stick the popped bubbles down and only me and you'd know...

My SuVee once was blue but rattle canned white on deer caused deep bondo, but its filler is in a recess that has a drain tube for splashes. What will they think of next.
