A friend's MK2A had a terrible squeal in the front brake. Piercing..Loud...Painful. In steps, we changed the pads, sanded the disc, finally I put in a rebuild kit (three square section Orings) and a pair of stainless pucks from Old Britts. There was brown muck in the caliper but it was still doing it's job and not leaking fluid. Finally the brake is silent. I don't know if it was the pucks or the Orings but the noise stopped.
