I'm getting ready to put the drum brake upgrade/stiffener plate on the front drum brake of my 71 Cdo. The kit that Oldbritts sells comes with new cams, which I don't really need, but I have noticed that these cams are listed as stock for 72 Cdo with drum brakes. Is there a difference in cam profile between 71-72? Rate of application different maybe? As I said I really don't need cams or bushings, just wondering if they would make a difference in brake performance.
Thanks

I think you will need them, unless somebody has already fitted the later 063272 cams?

The cam profile will be the same but you need the new cams (and pivot pins) because the bracing plate has to locate on the brake shoe pivot pins AND the end of the cam spindle. This means the new cams will have a spigot and threaded hole in them to allow them to be prevented from flexing away from the drum.
Hope that makes sense.
