I've got an uprated front brake with a braided brake line and a JPN front mudguard but am struggling to find a neat way to route or restrain the line. When the forks compress the brake line chafes on the mudguard spoiling the paintwork :( .

Anyone got a good fix, pictures appreciated.

This is what I did:

Braided Brake Lines Routing

I got a stainless replacement standard brake hose bracket from RGM, and slotted it out to take the braided hose.

I then fed a split grommet around the hose to hold it in place.

Its holding up OK so far

Thanks for the pics Andy.
I'd forgotten about the standard clips  , mine never had them. Got a couple on order now.
I tried the standard bracket but it doesn't work with a fibreglass mudguard but I'm on a bit of a mission at the moment so spent part of the weekend sweating buckets in the shed making a longer version.
Going belt and braces and will use vinyl covered hose as well, should fix it.

When I upgraded the brakes on my T140 I used a pair of plastic insulated P clips, I'll get a photo up tonight.

Bogus is a little tardy in getting those pictures up.

My front brake hose from Old Britts is a little different. I think this is how it should go. Now that I see the other picture I can move the clip up on the headlight bracket. I have it mocked up with a piece of tape to protect the tube.

I think I need a locknut on the hose here, does that sound correct?

Rich I don't understand why you say the brake line bracket won't work with the glass JPN front fender. I am using a braided line Fred from Oldbritts made for me alone with a stainless bracket & glass JPN fender and it all works together. I did screw up when I drilled the holes so my fender is off center for now until I fix it ( miss marked the tape) but it does fit. Why won't yours?

Locknut added. I don't think I'll have a problem mounting the fiberglass fender.

Moved the hose clip up.

The standard mudguard has a straight sided brackets to mount onto the forks, the JPN mounting points have large radius that blends into the main mudguard making the mounting lugs a lot wider at the point where the brake line bracket sits.

There are a lot of different fibreglass mudguards out there so I wouldn't be surprised that some work and some don't.
