I 3D Printed a tidy way to mount my Boyer Ignition box between the coils, instead of being wire tied under the tank. If anyone likes the idea and wants to print one for themselves, PM me and I will send you the file.
Thanks for the feedback but I was careful to reviewed Boyers installation instructions with the ignition kit and the more up to date on their website and they do not specify a concern re additional insulation. That said it's always a good idea to keep this stuff cool which is why I've mounted mine in an area of better airflow than under a fuel tank and crushed against a frame tube by wire ties as is the suggested location and method. The box, however, should not be insulated.
The box can just be ty-wrapped in that position.
"15. The black (red or blue) box must never be wrapped in foam or anything that would insulate it. Ignition coils must never be wrapped in foam. Both the box and coils need some air flow over them for cooling. Even partial covering of the box or coil with foam can lead to premature failure."
