Wondering what are the symptoms of a failed Boyer electronic ignition?

My '68 Commando was running fine today when all of a sudden it started missing, then died.

I can't get any spark from either side.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Stephen

I ran into something similar with mine, only I was on a busy freeway when it decided to stop running. I found both wires on the pick up plate had broken off at the solder joint. A shop I deal with ordered me just the pick up plate (about $50 as I recall). I ball parked it into the same place as the old plate and it started right up. I suggest you pull off the point cover and make sure both wires are secure.

Always always suspect the trigger wires first and not just looking as copper breaks inside insulation. This usually makes bad misfires and back fires before full nothing. Also suspect some other electrical short sucking juice the Boyer needs if not fault check list reveals anything.

First off.......Do you have power with the key on?.......Blown fuse?

Take a jumper wire directly from your fully charged battery to the black box hot wire and then check for spark.

Check all your connections as previously mentioned.
