Need to replace one of these power boxes to my Mk2a Commando. The previous owner has retained the existing zener diodes which are still connected, but not sure if any power is throughput to them.Hes also connected the black wire to 2 brown/blue wires that are within the battery compartment. Can anyone explain what I need to connect/disconnect and discard.Any help would be grateful.Bike is 73.

Unless the alternator has been upgraded to a higher output type (single-phase RM23) then there would normally be only one Zener on the Mk2a attached to the inside of the right-hand Z-plate and disconnected (the brown/blue removed) with the Power Box.

Hes also connected the black wire to 2 brown/blue wires that are within the battery compartment.

That is correct as the Boyer Power Box negative is the black wire so connects to the electrical system negative which is brown/blue.
I assume the "2 brown/blue wires" are the ones that were originally connected to the 2MC capacitor.

When I fitted my Boyer Power Box I removed the zenor Diode, the blue Capacitor and the Ballast Resistor as the instructions said they were now not needed although the new front wiring harness I bought did not have those wires in the loom anyway. I did have my first power box fail after 9 years so I just replaced it with a new boyer one.

The ballast resistor is part of the original points ignition system and has nothing to do with charging so the ballast resistor would be disconnected/removed when fitting electronic ignition.

The "front wiring harness" (headlamp section?) wouldn't normally have wires for the Zener, 2MC capacitor or ballast resistor.
