Bonneville Vinatge GP August 31st-September2. Miller Motorsports Park-Tooele, Utah-(Home of the only North American round of World Superbike).
The cool thing about this event is that it dovetails into the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials on the Bonneville Salt Flats 90 miles west. BUB ends Thursday
and practice starts at Miller on Friday so combined these two events make for an incredible motorcycle week. AHRMA road racing, Sidecars West Formula 1 & 2 modern sidecar racing, CB-160 LeMans start road race (last year we had 40 lined up), Motorcycle Classics Magazine Motorcycle Show-This year the Cafe Racer is featured marque. Tis event is like going to a living breathing motorcycle museum-full access to talk to racers and stroll though the garages.

G'Day Tom, thanks for posting this link. I enjoyed the slide show of pics etc, would dearly love to get over there some day, hopefully I can bring my 920 special (when its finished) for a spin!
I believe we're born with ten fingers and each one represents a goal in life achieved before we fall of our perch. One of mine is a trip to the flats over there!

I did not know that "Cafe Racer" was a marque. In fact when I look at period photographs of the riders haunting the English cafe's of the 40s-early 60s they are almost all riding mostly standard late-model bikes.

The real heirs to the Cafe Racer throne are the boys running around on again, mostly standard late-model sport bikes I hear late at night/early morning wringing it out on stretches of limited-access highway between cloverleafs and interchange ramps.

But that is not as interesting for show-and-tell as the Neo-cafe scene, mostly a fashion-marketing movement for douche-bags that follows aesthetics and ideals created in the 1980s when 50s-60s bikes got trendy and collectible....
