Finally my finances are back on green  so lets start shopping! I've been looking for someone who sells Black Diamond valves in Europe, found very few. Can't find anyone who sells them in the UK though. Anyone here knows better?
Tommy

I bought some Black Diamond valves on eBay in the UK. They are almost certainly NOT the genuine article. Probably worth dealing with a genuine stockist and if that means someone in the States, so be it.

You might consider using their valve guides as well, not to mention their valve guide seals. With daily use, and occasional uninhibited throttle wacking, my (their)
valves and guides have about 80 to 100 thousand miles on my 750.

So there's fakes of these, thanks for info, didn't know that. The idea with shopping in Europe was to eliminate the risk of extra custom fees. Happened a couple of years ago when I bought stuff for another bike from the US, the total increased about 30%, no fun at all. But if there's no other way, well..... I'm not building a race engine, but from what I've read these valves seems to be very durable, and that I like.

HI
I have had good luck not having Customs fees added on if the packages are clearly marked Vintage motorcycle parts. Now it just maybe the USA that works that way. I have bought parts from UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Austria, Thailand, Malaysia and have never had to pay customs duties.
Also try and keep orders under $1000.00 USD.

There were (maybe still are) bona fide valves marketed in the UK as Black Diamond, which were not connected to those American ones.

That would make sense. Well they're in there now and doing the business, I seem to recall they were cheaper than the genuine article from AN

Yeah, I saw those the other day, makes you wonder what Black Diamond "Type" really means... As one of the companies sells, "Made in England". 2/3 of the price as well, could be the same process, or not, who knows? Should be clearified somehow I think, I mean we´re talking pretty expensive parts here and if one could cut the cost with 1/3, who´d object to that?

I also bought parts from all over when I restored a car, but the shipments never got really expensive so trying to keep the figures down is probably a good idea! Don't know about the "Vintage parts" marking, but it certainly can't make things worse, worth a try!
