good fortune is finding me in santa barbara, ca first week in june. the riding is awesome there. i'm flying into LAX and trying to hook with motorcycle rental that is not going to cost me more than my hotel room. anything roadworthy that is not likely to break down is all i need. i know that many times, small repair shops have loaners that they don't mind renting out for a few days. does anybody have any info that might help me? ducati of santa barbara is renting at $200/day!! ouch. there's gotta be something better.

How about rental in Los Angeles? there's a shop near my work in Northwest LA county that rents: http://www.racyrentals.com/

Here's one I don't know much about, but they at least have a good website: http://www.pashnittours.com/motorcycles.html

The riding up to SB is pretty great. There's a fantastic set of roads to take. Just private message me if you would like me to help you with a route.

Contrary to a recent thread on this forum, So Cal is an amazing place to ride and is very motorcycle freindly. But, yes, I know, it's not fashionable these days to say you actually love living here. And I do.

Me, too, Kevin!

And, referring to the adjacent thread about California fines: If some asshole recklessy cuts out of the car-pool line an hits me on my bike (as has nearly happened) I want him (or her - woman on cell phone) to be fined every cent of $1200! Same with most of the other fines.

I am currently working off and on in Texas and am always very glad to get back to So Cal.
