I popped the MK3 down to the local gathering last night, must admit it was great ! at least 500 bikes, Every thing from a 1910 traction engine to suzuki 125 twin,
The biggest turn up was Harleys...at least 100 proberly more..some really nice stuff turned up ...Manx Nortons, Rob North Rocket three, Sunbeams,Rudge,Vincents Gold stars, Trumphs Etc
Commandos? errrrrr.........2 , mine and a 71 750. Did i say 100 plus Harleys? But it was a good feeling watching a couple talking for some length with beer ,discussing the Interstate , Didn't see that with the Harley's  Must admit that 4.10 TT 100 rear looked mighty skinny compared to my mates Triumph 2,3 Rocket three...Like something off a Jumbo Jet :!:

Gino, Dont be silly, Traction engines are slow, driven by old men and out of date  ...come to think of it...it was near a bunch

Two of the trophys that I've taken home with my Commando were from a local Harley shop's Customer Appreciation event. One was for Best Foreign Classic, against assorted Asian and European entries, and a Judge's Choice award which suprised me. The judges said, "Just don't see enough of those".

The Commando is accepted and admired in any crowd.

I try to do my fair share of bar to bar riding and the Norton never fails to spark a good conversation with the Harley riders. They have very similar issues with their bikes. Some of these guys would pay to sledgehammer Hondas for fun but I don't think we need to worry about that.
