Anyone got a feel for bias vs radial tires? I've mixed and matched em on my skinny and balloon tire bikes and so did BMW for a period w/o issue but I can't say I learned anything of note.

Hi Steve, by the pic you posted of the stack of tyres , I doubt it would matter as they end up in the same pile after the same treatment!!!!. Perhaps go for the one that stands the most punishment before burtsing. lol Do you want my old TT 100's???
Just picked up another '73 850 for $6k USD, fully done, not perfect, but well done. Didn't go the Combat route, figured I could have all the goodies on one bike from the two I now own and rebuild the second as longer project, keep one for the everyday ride!!!
Bloody addictive take possession 7th Jan Will post pics.
Regards Mike

Hehe, yeah I'm been lazy to carry off this last couple years tire stack which don't include many more car tires usually left in tatters at tire shop in towns. I've a stack of 4 non DOT balloon tires I ain't been able to hurt since the goats got me on SV650.
I'll use the rest of your old tires up on Trixie which I don't trust to play racer turns on but sure do enjoy the nice flow on her current brand 'new' decade old tires now. But that won't last but a season if not getting a slice in them 1st so I like to have some hanging around to slap on and go some more. When they get thin I start kicking up heels on THE Gravel, which is about like taking a wood rasp to em.

I was glad I saved the tires as gave selection to slice drum cushions from as I can't get one ride on factory ones w/o them chewed to shit even taking it easy as I can.

On Peel I may be able to sense the effect of radial vs bias and mixing matching for best handling quirks.
