Guys,

When I bought my commando a couple years ago, I thought that the PO removed and blocked off the chain oiler as the tube going from the oil tank to the chain was no longer there. As it turns out, it looks like he just pulled the tube because the chain oiler still seeps a little bit of oil out which makes its way down the swing arm into a tiny puddle after about a week.

What is the best way to block this off? Thanks!

I use a cap that is used to close off auto air conditioning lines.
It is a rubber like material and about 3/4" long which allows a hose clamp to secure it.
I got it at a regular auto parts store.
I've had it on for four years and I was in the area a lttle while ago and checked it out and was still in good condition.

Great idea! Thanks. I will give it a try.

Fine thread bolt screwed in tight followed by crushing hose clamp. In winter pull the whole tank to take care of it's several other issues.

I washed out the aluminum reducer (that housed the felt) with solvent and filled it with black RTV. Left the (now faux) chain oiler line, nozzle, etc. in place

I used a band clamp and a zerk fitting from the bottom of my tool box. ugly but beautifully functional

I crushed mine right at the oil tank banjo and soldered it shut. Central tank type though.

I did this too.

I ran a fine thread 3/8 tap in there and put in a threaded plug.
