I'm about done with repairing my 850 after having laid it down 6 months ago. Just in time for Spring, as the weather has finally turned warm. The bike went down on the right side, and I'm not sure if the shift lever is a bit bent. It seems rather close to the timing cover (about 3/8" or 10 mm). I'd appreciate it if someone could compare this against your own Commando and tell me if it's normal or not.

Thanks.

bent shift lever?

I can't help. Mine is still bent from a wreck that happened years before I took possession of it.

Mine has 1/2", but it's an early 750. It looks right.

I must be missing something here. If it's not fouling on the case and you can get to it with your foot, what's the problem?

If you are going to bend it out don't be tempted to do it on the bike, take it off and do it in a vise.

Thanks guys. Yes, it's workable as-is but it annoys me. I'll put it in a vice and yank it out a bit.
