Belt length?!?!?

hello!

this weekend my belt from my RGM belt conversion broke into pieces on my `72 commando.

does anybody know which is the right belt-length from the standard RGM belt drive conversion?

it`s an AT10 syncroflex belt.....i think it`s 890mm long....but i am not sure!

Yes, 890mm. Any idea on why it broke?

pvisseriii, i just think that it reached end of lifetime.

after i cleaned out the belt puzzles from the primary
i controlled the clutch, all the stuff on the crankshaft and alternator; got a two sided gearbox adjuster....nothing went loose and all seems to be in order.

i got this belt since 7 years and did a lot of kms.....some oil comes from the crankcase to the primary......so i think [i know this one should be oil resistant]

but me thinking: heat+oil+many kms is the cause.
and these belts are industry products .....i am not sure if they are constructed for the rpms/heat our commandos do?

but it`s ok....did a good job.....belt isn`t expensive; hope i got one here in my hometown.
