BAP petcock parts

Anyone know if you can get just the spring washer for the BAP fuel petcocks. I was a bone head and thought it DIDN'T need the ridges so I flattened them out. Guess what it now LEAKS.

Are you taking about the sealing washer with the rubber ring inside it for sealing against the tank? You can buy these washers various places. They have a special name which is eluding me at the moment! Someone else will remember.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I'm talking about the spring washer.

Its a waved washer that is about 1/8" wide and it is under the actual lever, not where the petcock connects to the tank. It holds pressure on the petcock so it can turn but also so it seals.

The one on the left is from another petcock, the one on the right is the one I need. See how good a job I did straighten it out

Maybe try bending them back in? That may be a tough item to buy, I don't know.

Yeah I've been thinking how I could bend it back. Figured I'd check the replacement options in case I can't get it right.

I'll bet you can put the wrinkle back in it. Go slow and use a couple of nice needle nose pliers. Nothing lost if not.

Just gave it a go, think I'm good, so far not leaking. We'll see how it holds up over night.

Guess I just needed a little motivation to fix my own problem.

Wave washers aren't that uncommon. Can you post the exact dimensions?

Most good hardware stores have them, I would asume BAP's are metric. Just look or ask for wave washers. I use them in linkage sometimes.

fortunately I was able to bend it back the way I needed it and thus far it's held up all weekend.

Guess I either got lucky, or it's too cold for it to leak. If needed I'll check out the hardware store. Fortunately I have a store by my house that is locally owned and actually has a good selection of items that aren't found in the big box stores.
