I know this isn't that complicated a question.

Would someone post a photograph of the @#$%ing battery box installed in the frame. I can't seem to find a decent illustration of it and I was too much of a dipwad to take a proper picture of it when I took it out. And I cannot for the life of me figure out how it goes back.....

Cris,
I am pretty sure you don't have the central oil tank, but I think the base plate and mounting points are pretty much the same. The tabs that bend down and have a hole in them mount under the top rear bolt in the web that has 3 holes in it for the z plate and the rear iso stud. The tabs that bend down and swoop back and have the cut outs in them mount under the iso stud. Don't know if these pictures will help. You might not have the prongs for mounting the panels like mine.

Just looked at my '72 which will be the same for '71 through '74 with the ham can air filter. The mounting points are the top two fasteners for the "Z" plates. There is a bracket welded to the frame. The rear battery tray mounting tab is inboard of the frame bracket, while the front tray mounting tab is outboard of the frame bracket. If you're still having trouble, post here and I can get a photo posted.
