when assembling the front or rear axles - what's the best type of grease to lube the axle

I use Mobil 1 synthetic since that's what I have lying around as my all-purpose grease. I imagine any good quality grease would suffice; I would think antiseize would also.

I've always used ordinary (Castrol LM) Lithium grease.
