Any suggestions about how to connect an auxiliary fuel tank to stock 932 Amal’s? My rebuild is almost done but I would like to test-run the engine prior to installing the freshly painted tank. Should I get and chop some stock fuel banjos into my aux tank line? Thanks.

do not install the fuel tank. then I hooked up an enima bag (NEW UNUSED
) through the left fuel line and had a tank valve on the other end past the right amal carb. also had a valve on the drain from the bag to the carb fuel line. depending on the size of bag get you about 0.5 litre fuel.

Purchased the aux. tank separately and assembled the routing system with components from the hardware store.
This keeps fuel contained and reasonably safe...no leaking or dripping.
Cost was around $26.

Norton generally uses 1/4" ID fuel hoses. Amal sells dual and single banjos for 1/4" hose. Other British bikes generally use 5/16" ID fuel hoses. Amal doesn't sell a single for them, but does sell duals in which case you plug the free end. Either will work - figure out the aux tank first. Amazon sells lots of hanging aux fuel tanks and probably local parts stores will have them. I have most of the Amal stuff listed on eBay or PM me for better prices.
Line slinger- you are using the same aux tank that I have and my splitter system is pretty much the same. How do you connect the ends to the carbs? Great pictures. I think the single banjos that I preferred should work.

I assume you mean the male hose ends coming off of the auxiliary tank.
I took the braided fuel line down to the plumbing supply house that I frequent and where I acquired my components and asked them for a hose barb - to male threaded fitting to match up with female connection that normally attaches to the tank.

Do they stock those threaded male fittings of did they make it for you. Cost?

They had thwm in stock it just took him a few minutes to find them, well, more than a few.

Wow! I've never checked but since the petcock part that screws into the tank is 1/4 BSP (if I remember correctly), I always assumed that the nut for the other ends was some British thread. I guess it's time to figure that out - I'm pretty sure a local US plumbing supply wouldn't have British threads. Or, maybe L.A.B will jump in a make it all clear.

I know they were digging in the boneyard in their store after identifying the thread pitch, and this place is huge and over 50 years in biz...so maybe I just got lucky.

Maybe you should go back and buy them out! I certainly would buy a couple from you. Two of those and a 3-way union would make a very nice setup for using the standard Norton fuel lines to a aux tank.

Pretty good idea. I'm getting ready to gut/redo the ds bathroom. I'll see if they have any more as they are my go to plumbing supplier.
