Auxilary Socket

Hi All
The Aux. socket has just dropped onto the front door mat...i must say i was expecting more. So to my question
On the Socket, Trim the wire back wrap it around the female terminal before screwing in or crimped eyelet wire connector??

It's teeny tiny. Ring is very narrow too.
