damper body length are 7.75 for Atlas and 9.125 for Commando.
If i want use Commando damper in Atlas fork, works if i reduce the rod of the same measure of 1,375?.

If I'm thinking correctly then if the damper rods were to be reduced in length by 1.375" that would also reduce the spring fitted length by an equal amount.
Not only would the springs be compressed an additional 1.375" when the fork is fully extended but I'm fairly sure the springs would become coil-bound before the forks are fully compressed so different springs would be required.

Atlas /commando travel
fork travel- 6.15/ 6.15 is the stanchion travel inside the BARE fork leg only . no springs no damper body no rod !!!
Which stanchions you gona use? commando?
The atlas bike will have a high "chopper" front end due to the long damper body but the modified shorter rods will top out and restrict full travel.
Very foolish exercise....Think before you do this!!!
The damper BODY controls the ride height....unless you also modify the spring length .

Hi.
I have the complete Atlas forks (have short stanchions and springs), but not the dampers.
So that i would fit the Commando dampers that i have.
What i must do to use the Commando dampers with stock Atlas stanchions?.
You say that Atlas dampers are long 7.75.
Andover supply the 7 5/8: are they the Atlas dampers?.
7,75 is the lenght from bottom (where you fit the bolt to hold the slider) to up without cap damper tube?

It would increase the fork 'extended length' to that of a Commando fork and increase 'ride height' by the additional length of the damper assembly (approximately 1.375" as the forks are not vertical). The shorter Atlas stanchions would mean the standard springs would become coil-bound before the fork reached full compression, therefore, in my opinion, the Commando damper tubes need to be shortened or correct length dampers used.
According to AN, the Commando damper body is 8 7/8" (I actually make it nearer 8 15/16") so it seems they haven't included the stub on the bottom in their measurements as the overall length of the Commando damper tube is approximately 9 1/8" (9.125").

"I will shorten some Commando damper tubes to fit into an Atlas , so I want to know what is the difference , I had checked with AN site and it says : 8 " 7/8 - 7" 5/8 = 1" 1/4 (31.75 mm), RGM : 232mm -194mm =38mm, Atlantic Green : 9.125 -7.75=1.375 ( 34.9mm), as the nominal lenght could be...

the springs are the SAMEthe RODS are the same length only but NOT the same threads
Why not just buy and use the correct parts?
All the feartherbed parts are the correct size/length AND the correct british threads.
All the commando parts are correct size/length for the longer commando front end AND the correct UN threads.
NONE of these parts interchange without problems .

Yes, you could but the damper tubes need rethreading 13/16 x 28 tpi (for the Commando damper cap) and the UNF threaded Commando damper rods will not screw into the Atlas fork cap bolts.
