Hi everybody.
Rebuilding the atlas and doing very nicely with the help of you guys.
However, I'm stuck.
Firstly, the clutch. It worked fine before the rebuild. I haven't touched the gearbox internals. When I assembled all the clutch plates and refitted a new cable, pulling the clutch lever only moves the plates a frag and you feel as though you'll break the cable. We have played around with the operating arm in the gearbox and it works ok. When I adjust up the adjusting screw on the outside of the clutch plates in takes up the slack at the handlebar lever quite freely. Lost on this one.
Secondly, how the hell do you fit the centre stand spring. I know where it goes etc , but the spring loops at the end have one correct angle to fit the centre stand, but the end of the spring has the loop at 90 degrees the wrong way. What's the trick to fitting this and twisting the spring at the same time?
The second part of the swing arm saga is when it's in the up position, it sits against the mufflers. How do I fit a rubber stopper and where abouts?
Cheers all.
Thanks hillbone
