Atlas actuator

Very Helpful Mr Horton! Just one thing though on page 21 I think he got his captions mixed up! The narrative says the spring must not touch the gearshift paw but the picture captions are the wrong way around IMHO
I also found this old grubby How To that may help somebody!

Mr Hobot, thank you for your excellent advice also! I have not shown the ball in the photos BTW.

Apologies for hijacking OP's thread

Anyone care to comment on the default position of the actuator arm

You want lever to end up in line with the cable which usually means ya don't get it nipped up right the first time around. You don't have to go crazy on the ring tightening at nill forces on it and therefore less reason not to just just a drift to move it. You can dabble blue locktite to good effect here and definitely the nut on end of main shaft right behind the cable lever gizmo. Only took me twice last time a few weeks ago. Some say to grind off a bit of the end of the cable notch to make it easier to fit in and I did so but its about the same as leaving it be. Only took me twice not to have the ball move out of positon, 2nd time kind of kept ball trapped by clutch rod adjuster and backed off rod as I tightened up the lock ring. Grease rod to help stifle the lube dribbles. Some also waist rod near DS end to give anothe chance for lube to drip off inside not outside.

Appreciate thereply and the great photo Hobot but I'm afraid I'm not gettin' the Arkansas lingo! :D When you talk about all those adjustments are you referring to the locknut at the other end of the clutch rod on the outside of the clutch or some other adjustment i'm not aware of?
