Assembly order verification please

Hi Everyone,
I'm about ready to install an MKIII exhaust system and the exploded view in the parts manual looks like the order of installation for the seating ring and split collet are as shown? I'm not familiar with split collets and would appreciate a verification please.

No, the split collet/s go between the flared end of the exhaust pipe and nut (lockring).

The MkIII parts book lists the two items ("Seating, Spherical" and "Collet") in the wrong order.

No! thick convex washer goes into head, bell of exhaust goes against those, then the collets need to be snapped in half and inserted small end first into the exhaust nuts. What's throwing you off is the new collets are manufactured in one piece, they need to be snapped in half for installation.

Sheesh. I never would have guessed that on my own. Glad I asked. That starts to make sense now. Thanks.
