Hi,

To gain some clearance on possible fairing project.

Looking at clips on or clubman style bars.

Anyone running clip ons with right way up/conventional forks?
If so did you still use OEM headlight brackets and mount below or on top of triple clamp?

Thanks for any advice.

GK,
Can't really help you with your particular query.... but i went with the opposite way..ie, put higher bars on a cafe racer with usd forks. All the work was done at the Norton factory....a different top yoke was needed, the original headlight and brackets were used.

AL,

Did your CR conversion require longer hydraulic lines for clutch and front brake, or were the originals long enough?

I had the same conversion from clip-ons to higher bars, and the factory changed both the hydraulic lines. I wish I'd thought about joint deterioration (mine) when I ordered the Cafe Racer. It was ok in 2013, but last year with the clip-ons I could only manage about 45 minutes. With the higher bars the 2.5 hour run back from the factory without stopping, was pain free.

I found that it wasn't so much the clips ons that caused me a problem....it was more that the footrests were too far forward in conjunction with the clip ons.... with the higher bars fitted, the footrests feel much more in the ''correct '' position for me.

Hello GKRyder , After looking at the drawings I see that the CR had a thin top triple clamp. This allowed room for the clip on mount to clamp on just below them above the headlamp bracket. There is no room to clamp with a Sport or SF with the thicker top triple clamp. The clubmans might be cheaper and easier.
