I've seen more of those on fleabay etc than you might think possible.
Owners/painters who can't remember which way the stripes went, and who didn't take any pics as a backup... ?

The latest variation is the twin pinstripes and decals as a set - for 750 Commandos.
Hmmm...

Just curious, what was your interest in it?

The cover is on a bike I looked at and I thought I recognized it as bike I saw for sale a while ago, but I cannot find any records . So I thought someone might have recognized the side cover and the bike. Its a 850 that has replica Dunstalls with non cross over pipes. That's all, :D

I guess someone should let Matt know that.

Ha.....I did check this thread out and got my feelings hurt...

....not really. Can not argue taste

I have done several different designs on the side cover over the years and I actually like the backwards swoop as I look at it as a continuation of the line from the tank. Ties the two together

The negative reactions are amusing to me, but I always looked at stock configurations of mechanical objects as a starting point, not the most correct version of a thing. When I discovered the crankcast breather modifications and kegler swingarm modification my bike stopped leaking and it's handling improved. When I discovered that my early model rear hub had no cush drive rubber and replaced it, I no longer got a loud "click" noise when I shifted into gear. I have cast aluminum wheels with a lighter weight brake disc and lightweight front fender..... None of this is stock parts... It's shithouse, I supose.. ha ha
