Folks, I want some black anodised Commando parts either de-anodising back to bare alloy or re-anodising silver. They’re not big parts. Any suggestions as to a trustworthy anodiser in the U.K. ?

As far as I know parts cannot be de-anodised in the same way chrome is stripped. I have just had the tank centre trim from the OIF A65 I'm building de-anodised by polishing it off. Worked a treat but would be tricky on awkwardly shaped parts.

I didn’t know that, in that case I’ll just have them re-anodised sliver… if I can find a reputable anodiser…

I de-anodised a gold anodised alloy rim, there is decorative anodising which will polish off and hard anodising which was used on the rim. You use a Caustic Soda solution but once the anodising is gone then the caustic soda will attack the alloy and dissolve it to nothing so I had about 25% of the rim in the solution and used a nylon scouring pad, as the gold faded to nothing the fizzing increased rapidly so out with the rim to neutralise the caustic and a fresh 25% back into the caustic..
