Andover AP Brake Pads?

Was hopimg to order Fedoro Platinum pads with other items but only seeing these on AN site, any good?

Can’t comment on them but all I know is the Ferodo Platinum pads work great for me.

They are great on my MK 111 stock rear . Almost equal the front AP racing bigger disc . Almost .

I've used these on a stock norton caliper with sleeved down master-cylinder and I prefer these to any other stock pads I have used.

To clarify, you are saying the AP Racing Standard compound pads are the best you've had on your stock Commando brakes or do you mean the Fedoro Platinums, mentioned by Stevo & Torontonian, are your favourites?

I have not raced for a long time, however I might again. I tried several types of pad years ago, and went back to the asbestos pads of the 1970s. Thanks for the heads-up. My discs are high speed steel Suzuki items.

I used the standard compound ones in the same package shown above. I still have a pair in stock, but I'm currently using a different caliper.

Are they still made in the UK? I noticed the "Made in UK" stamping is gone.

I have used both in my customer builds and notice no difference. I generally use: Ferodo Disc brake pads FDB88P Platinum for Norton Commando. Mostly because they cost me a little less (Wassell) and have a good name.

I have one set of Ferodo in stock but shipping cost to you is high so if already ordering from AN, I would get the AP Racing.

BTW, my rider has EMGO and they seem to work well, but them I've had the disk turned and that is quite an improvement over chrome and especially worn out chrome.

I've used them both. The Ferrodos work better on my Commando with the CNW Brembo MC, stock caliper. Feels like modern brakes.

Ferodo organic pads are my favorite. Almost any organic. I'm not racing, and they stop better, cost less, and don't wear out my rotors.

The first time I raced the Seeley 850, it had a chromium plated Suzuki disc and one Lockheed AP caliper. I rode the bike in a race on Winton Raceway. The slowest corner there turns more than 90 degrees - it determines how fast you can ride. In that race Don Brisbane from Shepparton was riding the methanol-fuelled T250 Suzuki which I had built and sold. I blitzed him down the straight, however at the tight corner I could not stop the bike and ran wide. I had done it there many times previously, so I just got over the side of the bike, held it vertical until it had slowed enough then accelerated. Don slipped under me and I blew him off down the next straight. After the race he said ' I thought you were gone'. I said ' so did I'. My mate had raced with that single Suzuki disc at Sandown - a much bigger circuit, when the bike was a Seeley Laverda 750 - and much heavier.
