AN Chainguard 06.1865

Hi All. looking at the AN chainguard 06.1865 it has two holes along the front face as well as the cut out at the back at the lower shock absorber bolt
But on my swing arm & indeed the ones shown on AN site it only has the front inverted "U" bracket welding to it .... so what is attached through/to the second hole??
