Not a commando. but a 1960 duplex triumph bonnie.
This bike had stood 6 years in a mates collection, and yesterday i called around to look at another bike...well the triumph had moved from the back ,to the front.
I asked "whats with the bike?" Old Arnold explained " i think i have sold it" he went on " only needs starting" I smiled , and asked why had he not kicked it?
"it's my knee" he replied.
After about 8 kicks it fired up and sounded great, which surprised us both, as it hadnot been run for six years!
The sump was full of oil, which quickly got pumped back,no smoke and no oil leaks! Just a reminder that these old brits will stand "ready and willing" !

yep its a wonderful sensation to kick old vintage to life again with the protective cam splash of oil of wet sumped old tired BI Iron.

Yea it is a good feeling to bring one back to life, I rebuilt the carb onmy 441 BSA and yesterday it started first kick & ran great.

John, thought I'd let you know the Dommi café racer project that you supplied the damper kit for last year is finished :D , not ridden yet though as it's going to the Stafford show in a couple of weeks time and I hate cleaning bikes  That fired up first kick after a total rebuild! 8)

Obviously have better fuel than here. Six years and the carbs would be so full of crust, goo, and other nastyness the slides would be stuck and shit dripping all over the primary. I've had fuel clog pilot jets in a Yamaha after 3 months!
