Here's a new one! The glue holding both resleeved outer sleeve failed causing the idle to intermittently hang (drove me nuts) . The outer sleeves would move a few mm up and down independent of the main slide. I removed the outer sleeves and Blue Loctighted them and see how it goes! :D

I know loctite does not like heat but not sure if the slides would get very hot with cooling air flowing on them while running. Would maybe try asking the place who did it what they used and at least let them know it failed. I think JB Weld would work well. It's not like you would ever want to take them apart. What material is the sleeve made from?

Carbs stay pretty cool while inhaling but so as ya shut off they can heat soak close to boiling. It is way mine and may be someday, I'd use the epoxy thread repair-maker in auto part blister pack rack. It pretty thin and set up likely stronger than Al or even steel threads. A Time side cover thread hole repaired with this on Trixie is holding up fine under sealing torque. As mention alert the maker they need to know may well replace it for ya or tell ya how to DIY and why.

Hmm, I have anodized slides on hand but likely the bore beating open too, so maybe I could just use the epoxy thread maker to take up the bore slack, using the grease/oil that goes on the bolt that run into bad thread as a form, then backed right out after set up. Of course could become a one piece paper weight.

Sorry to ask, but are the sleeved around the slide?
Couldn't quite understand.
If they are, why are they a loose fit & have to be held on with glue. Why not a tight fit.

Lund uses an interference fit with Loctite 620 and makes the sleeve out of 1020 DOM seamless tube.

As RonL noted, Loctite 'green' sleeve and bearing retainer can take considerable heat and survive...Blue threadlocker not so much...
