My MK III Commando is having an issue with right side idle circuit. The compression is 145 Left and 150 Right. I replaced the points and have the timing spot on. New capacitors, plug wires, plugs, valves lashed. The left side is idling better than the right and the left cylinder cabuerator mixture screw works well and functions best at about 3/4 turn open. If I turn the left mixture screw all the way in the engine stumbles. If I plug the air bleed at the carb entrance it stumbles.

The troublesome right side seems to be lean and I am having to fully close the mixture screw to get it to run best. It pops when cold and improves with choke on. I still believe it is not getting enough fuel because if I open the right side mixture (air) screw it begins to miss even at 1/4 turn open. Covering the air bleed has no effect. I have checked for vacuum leaks via spraying with carb cleaner and block sanded gasketed manifold surfaces to insure they are flat. I used a small amount of sealer on the insulating gaskets. I do not believe there is a vacuum leak. Idle synchronization is dead on as I checked / set up with a Uni Syn gage.

I would guess a passageway is blocked but I have blown through all the idle circuit ports with carb cleaner and compressed air. The carbs were recently rebuilt and appear near new. The slides are very closely fitted and have had the "slide job". Cable seals good.

Any ideas out there? :?
