I've read that most the Triumphs ever made are still on the road, rest are in garages and few still chugging along, Jim Joyce's expected.

I want Santa to drop off custom 15" Ohlin adjustable everything shocks on back.

Animal sound and song system that can blast out Cougar screams and hound pack yeps at 112 dbs.

Constant on video to record the splatters of 3 or 4 paintball marker @ 40 rds/sec each on freaked out animal hides.

Hi power helmet spotlight with a pair of hi velocity Steel bb full auto pistolas.

Would a few miles of asphalt be too much to ask for or rubber spine and joints?

Tom of P11 fame here has already given me my best all time Norton Gift set,
Bob Patton's mentoring and experiences. to go strafing after flying rain deer.

OK,ok, I'll reply. I like Triumph's too ! ( and have two together and one in parts as I write this.) My first brand NEW bike, a 1978 T140E in Black with Red Scallops. Points ignition but with Amal MK II carbs. Great bike !!! But ... I remember riding by a "Ringle Plating Corporation" in my home town and seeing my first Norton. It was a 1974 hi-rider, but had a Metalic Brown paint job ! ( kind've like the Honda CB500T of that era.) Man was that Norton beautiful !!! The guy even had the Primary, Timing, and Gearbox covers chromed. Made me want to have one someday. Now I've had eight bought and sold over the years, and am always on the lookout for more ... Cheers !!!

Years ago we put together a "Triumph repair kit" for a buddy for his Birthday, it was:

A hand Grenade, a bottle of Whiskey and a cigarette!

I have a Triumph in pieces on my bench, it's a 1952 TRW (26 ground-pounding Horsepower!) and it's about to make some BIG progress towards the restoration (I need to clear the bench for "Commando Bizarro").

My local buddy rides a nice '69 Bonnie and a clapped out chassis '71 Cdo. He switches between them to visit. His smile is always bigger on the Cdo with a comment that its light years nicer more powerful experience. But we already know this.

nortribuell,
Wonder if I have your original bike. 1978 T140e still running points and MKII carbs. Was repainted solid red when I bought it, not sure what the original color was. Also have a 2004 1200R Sportster with numerous handling and performance upgrades. Commando is a late 72 post combat 750, currently a bare powdercoated frame, shiny yellow tank and side covers and bins of parts.
Waiting until I retire in 9/2011 to start putting it back together. After 20 years in the Gulf of Mexico deepwater oil patch I'm calling it quits. Don't know when driiling will resume,
Htown

Oh you norton guys are starting to open up a bit:-) 224 lookers and 8 post:-) Oh I like them both, just grew up in a triumph shop, so there you have it. I am going to build a triton does that count. :D

Tim,
Will you continue to ride the Norton’s this coming years racing? Over all it seems like you win some on these and you don't have to work on them much. Is Maurice still preparing the bike you will run? Are there other Norton's you run? Prepared by others? What classes do you run in besides formula 750? Could you run in Classic 60’s with the right bike?(AKAGoodpasters class) Say with a sleeved down Commando motor? What are the over all lap time differences between these classes. Greg

How does one compare a Norton and a Triump. They can not be compared as they are two different classes of motorcycle. Truimps, like BSAs and old Harleys ect. are CLASSIC bikes - pronounced 'class ick' and are ridden by class ick riders.
Nortons on the other hand are "CLASSY" bikes pronounced 'class e' and are ridden by classy riders. Now you know the difference. Jim 8)

I LOVED the T120R I had as a kid.... but so did my dentist as he replaced at least 2 fillings that vibrated outta my head!
If I had to choose between that bike and my commando, well, I wouldn't miss the bonnie. But if the triumph were a 70's trident, it would be a more difficult decision.

now what I really want for christmas is a ducati sport classic....

Greg have made no plans as of yet but most likly will run the manx if maurice is in good health. I hear there may be another manx on the grid. I like to ride those that other build as long as the work has been done to tip top stds. oh the lap times between cl 60s and f-750 have to be huge. The tri is in the trailer from barber ready to go to the next race, thats just the way them triumphs are LoL

phantom--

My dad is getting close to finishing his 'Nortumph', so I guess I'd say I like both, too. I'm starting on my first Norton, though. :)
